How a Four-Winery Day Runs in Each Valley

The same shape in both valleys, with differences that matter at each stage.

  1. Pickup and the drive out

Both valleys' tours collect you from your Santiago accommodation. The Maipo van starts its rounds at 7:30 am and heads south, with the first vineyards about an hour from the city. Casablanca days head west on Ruta 68 for about 80 km, around an hour depending on traffic, towards a valley often covered in morning fog.

  2. Morning tastings

In the Maipo you begin at La Quirinca, a family farm with alpacas and llamas, where wine comes with Chilean pisco, then taste at Santa Ema. In Casablanca both routes start with Emiliana, which farms organically, and Bodegas RE, a small family winery that ferments part of its wine in clay amphorae.

  3. The lunch stop

Maipo groups eat at TerraMater's Zinfandel restaurant around 12:30 pm, paid for unless you booked the Traditional + Lunch Included option. Casablanca groups eat at Tanino, the restaurant at Casas del Bosque, ordering and paying at the table. In Casablanca that lunch stop counts as the fourth winery, with no tasting.

  4. The last stop and home

The Maipo Premium Route ends with Undurraga's full tour and barrel cellar, and the Traditional options at Viña Ballek by the Maipo River, with drop-off around 6:00 to 6:30 pm. The Casablanca routes put their third tasting at Casa del Molle or Casa Valle Viñamar before lunch, then drive you back after 9 to 10 hours.

MAIPO 4 VS CASABLANCA 4

Which Four-Winery Day Should You Book?

What you taste, where you eat and how the Maipo and Casablanca routes differ.

For a four-winery day from Santiago, book the Maipo Valley Wine Tour with 4 wineries and pisco on Viator. Of the three four-winery days compared here, it is the only one with a tasting at every winery and the one with the lowest from-price, at $119 per person, and it holds 4.9 from 2,725 reviews on Viator (checked October 2026). Book a Casablanca route instead if you drink mostly white wine: the Four Casablanca Wineries day with Casa del Molle starts from $139 per person with 4.8 from 646 reviews on Viator, and the Casablanca Valley 4 Vineyards day with Viñamar from $149 per person with 4.9 from 144 reviews on Viator.

The headline number hides the main difference. In the Maipo, four wineries means four tastings. In Casablanca it means three tastings and a lunch stop at a fourth estate, where the meal is at your own cost.

Four tastings or three and a lunch

On the Maipo day every option includes tastings at all four wineries, with full guided visits at two of them, and the listing adds pisco, olive oil and cheese to the reds, whites and sparkling wine. One July 2026 reviewer summed it up as “interesting tours of the vineyard and a lot of wine.”

Both Casablanca routes include entry and a tasting at three wineries, then finish at Casas del Bosque for lunch at its Tanino restaurant. Neither listing includes a tasting there, and both say so in their exclusions. A one-star reviewer in September 2026 called the tour name misleading for exactly that reason, and a December 2025 reviewer on the Viñamar route gave five stars while warning that “you will only get tastings in 3 of the 4 vineyards.” Go in knowing that, and the Casablanca day reads as three cellar visits and a long lunch at a well-known estate: Casas del Bosque was ranked No. 42 in The World’s 50 Best Vineyards 2025.

Cabernet country or cool-climate whites

The bigger choice is the wine. Chile’s tourism board calls the Maipo the cradle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, and Wines of Chile describes its climate as mild Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers. Casablanca lies between the Coastal Range and the Pacific, and the cool morning fog that rolls in off the ocean suits Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Mornings there can be cool and afternoons warm, so dress in layers.

The drive is similar. The first Maipo vineyards are about 50 km south of Santiago, roughly an hour on Route 5 South. Casablanca is about 80 km west on Ruta 68, around an hour depending on traffic. Neither valley makes the four-winery day much longer than the other: 10 hours for the Maipo day, 10 hours for the Casa del Molle route and 9 hours for the Viñamar route.

The Maipo four, stop by stop

Stamp’s Tour runs the Maipo day. It opens at La Quirinca, a family farm winery where you walk the gardens, meet the alpacas, llamas and chickens and taste wine with pisco. Santa Ema follows: the Pavone family bought the property in Isla de Maipo in 1931, and Félix Pavone Arbea founded the winery in 1956. TerraMater, founded in 1996 by the three Canepa sisters, is the lunch stop, and its shop sells the winery’s olive oil.

Your option decides the end of the day. The Premium Route finishes with Undurraga’s full tour, four premium wines, the barrel cellar and a pre-Columbian exhibit; Undurraga was founded in 1885 at Talagante. The Traditional options finish at Viña Ballek among its vines by the Maipo River. Lunch is in the price only on the Traditional + Lunch Included option, and there is also a Private Tour option for your own group, with lunch not included. Our breakdown of the Maipo four-winery day covers every option.

The same operator lists the day on GetYourGuide as the Maipo Valley Wine Tour to Four Wineries, from $149 per person with 4.8 from 620 GetYourGuide reviews. It always ends at Undurraga, adds a 15-minute photo stop by the Maipo River and leaves lunch at TerraMater to you. Price the Viator Premium Route on your date before you decide which is cheaper for the same route.

The two Casablanca fours, side by side

The two Casablanca routes share their first two wineries. Emiliana, on Ruta 68, describes its farming as organic and biodynamic. Bodegas RE is a small family winery founded in 2008 by Pablo Morandé, who planted Casablanca’s first vineyard in 1982; it ferments part of its wine in clay amphorae and keeps them in an underground cellar. One March 2026 reviewer found its cellar tour interesting but noted only two wines were poured.

The third tasting is where they part. Go2Chile Travel’s route visits Casa del Molle, a family-run boutique producer that several reviewers call the highlight of the day. It runs 10 hours, caps groups at 15 and guides in English and Spanish. Best Trip Chile’s route visits Casa Valle Viñamar, which specialises in sparkling wine, runs 9 hours and adds Portuguese, though in a mixed group the commentary may switch between languages. Our Casablanca Valley wine tours page covers both routes alongside the coast days.

Lunch on every four-winery day

  • Maipo on Viator: included only on the Traditional + Lunch Included option; on the other options you pay at the restaurant or bring your own food.
  • Maipo on GetYourGuide: lunch at TerraMater at your own cost.
  • Casablanca with Casa del Molle: lunch at Tanino at your own cost.
  • Casablanca with Viñamar: lunch at Tanino, ordered à la carte and paid individually.

So among the four-winery days on this page, the Maipo lunch option is the only one with the meal already paid. If a set lunch matters more than the number of stops, our wine tours with lunch page lists the tours that include it.

Which four-winery day fits you

Book the Maipo day if you drink red, want the most tastings for the money, or are travelling alone on a budget. Choose the Premium Route if a historic estate matters to you, and the lunch-included option if you would rather not pay at the table.

Book the Casa del Molle route if you prefer whites and want a smaller boutique producer in the line-up. Book the Viñamar route if you like sparkling wine, need Portuguese or want a slightly shorter day.

Want food as much as wine? Stamp’s Tour’s Maipo Valley Wine and Food Trail has three tastings, a Chilean breakfast tasting and a fire-cooked lunch at Labranza Restaurant, included only on the Full wine trail option. It costs from $135 per person, rated 4.8 from 69 reviews on Viator. If four tastings sounds like too much, our half-day wine tours page covers single-winery visits, and for a car to yourselves see our private wine tours page.

Where to go next

If you are still deciding between the valleys themselves, read our Maipo Valley wine tours page, which compares every Maipo format and explains when Casablanca or Colchagua is the better trip. If the Maipo four is your pick, choose your route and lunch option and check availability.
