  • Tour the William Cole vineyard and taste its wines at the second stop of the day.
  • Finish with lunch at Casa del Bosque, whose restaurant serves meat, fish, seafood and pasta.

  • Choose service in English, Spanish or Portuguese for the whole day.

What's Included

  • Private transport out and back, from Centro, Las Condes, Vitacura or Providencia
  • Emiliana visit with four wines to taste, both red and white
  • A cheese and chocolate pairing board per guest at Emiliana
  • Vineyard tour and tasting at William Cole

How Booking a Private Wine Tour Works

Four steps that decide what you pay and how the day runs.

  1. Pick the valley first

Maipo starts about an hour from Santiago and suits a shorter private day with historic estates. Casablanca sits about 80 km west on the road to the coast and is known for whites. Colchagua is about 180 km south, so its private days run 10 to 12 hours.

  2. Enter your real group size

Private tours on Viator are priced per person by party size. On the Colchagua VIK and Montes day, two people pay $375 each and seven to ten pay $280 each. Enter the exact number of travellers on the booking page before you compare totals.

  3. Check who pays for lunch

Lunch terms differ more than prices. The private Casablanca day and all three Colchagua days book or stop at a restaurant and leave the bill to you. The private Maipo days with Santa Rita, and the horseback day, include the meal in the price.

  4. Confirm pickup and timing

Most private days collect you from your Santiago hotel. The Casablanca day picks up in Centro, Las Condes, Vitacura and Providencia, and the Colchagua days start early, from 07:30 or 08:00 depending on the operator. Free cancellation runs to 24 hours before departure on these listings.

PRIVATE TOUR GUIDE

Private Wine Tours from Santiago Compared

Which valley, what each day costs for your group size, and who pays for lunch.

For most couples and small groups, the private day to book is the Private Casablanca Tour to Emiliana, William Cole and Casa del Bosque on Viator. It starts from $150 per person, holds 4.9 from 116 reviews on Viator, and is the most-reviewed private wine tour on this site (checked October 2026). That from-price is not what everyone pays: private tours are priced by party size, so the figure for your group may be higher or lower once you enter your numbers.

Private inventory from Santiago is mostly on Viator. GetYourGuide sells a handful of private wine days, but most have only a few reviews, and the one with the most reviews is a dearer copy of a Viator Colchagua day, covered below. The rest of this page sorts the private options by what you want from the day.

How private pricing works

A shared tour has one price per seat. A private tour spreads the cost of the car and guide across your party, so the per-person rate falls as the group grows. Three examples from the listings show how much it moves:

So two people on the Maipo estates day pay $1,272 between them, and four people on the VIK and Montes day pay $1,280. Always compare totals for your real group size, and never read a from-price as the price for one.

Private Casablanca: the most-reviewed private day

The Casablanca Valley lies about 80 km west of Santiago on Ruta 68, roughly an hour’s drive depending on traffic, and is best known for Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The lead tour spends about 8 hours there. Emiliana comes first, with four wines, red and white, and a cheese and chocolate board for each guest. Emiliana says it farms organically and biodynamically. William Cole follows with a vineyard tour and a tasting.

The third stop, Casa del Bosque, is for lunch only, and you pay for the meal and any wine you order there. Only the Emiliana and William Cole tastings are in the price. Pickup covers Centro, Las Condes, Vitacura and Providencia, and the day runs in English, Spanish or Portuguese. Reviewers mention the same guides by name again and again, and one in April 2024 summed up the shape of the day: a good tour and tasting at the first two wineries, “followed by an excellent lunch at the third.”

If you want more Casablanca wineries for less money, the shared four-winery days are compared on our Casablanca Valley wine tours page. Read our breakdown of the private Casablanca day for the full itinerary.

Private Maipo: famous estates or a boutique pairing

The Maipo Valley is the closest wine country to Santiago, with its first vineyards about 50 km away, and it is Cabernet Sauvignon country. Three private Maipo days include lunch, counting the horseback day, which the Casablanca day does not.

The Concha y Toro, Santa Rita and Undurraga tour visits three houses founded in the 19th century, Santa Rita in 1880, Concha y Toro in 1883 and Undurraga in 1885. It goes into Concha y Toro’s old cellars and the Casillero del Diablo cellar, then to Santa Rita for aged wines, an à la carte lunch with Reserva wine at Doña Paula and the Andean Museum, and ends with three Reserva wines at Undurraga. It takes about 10 hours, carries up to 15 people on one booking, picks up from hotels, the airport or the central train and bus stations, and has guides in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. It holds 5.0 from 31 reviews on Viator.

The Private Maipo Valley Tour with Aquitania, Santa Rita and Chilean Lunch is the shorter and cheaper version, at 7 to 8 hours and from $290 per person, a figure that may change with group size. It pairs a four-wine tasting at Aquitania, a small producer founded by Paul Pontallier, Bruno Prats and Felipe de Solminihac, with Santa Rita’s premium tour and four more wines. Lunch at a local restaurant is included, with vegan choices. Bookings are capped at eight people, and it has 5.0 from 14 reviews on Viator. Our Maipo Valley wine tours page sets both against the shared Maipo days.

Premium Colchagua: VIK and Apalta

Colchagua is the long day. Santa Cruz is about 180 km south of Santiago, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours by road, and every private day here runs 10 hours or more. The VIK and Montes day starts at Viña VIK in Millahue, which is in the Cachapoal Valley, for three wines and two barrel samples. It then reserves you a table at Fuegos de Apalta, Francis Mallmann’s restaurant on the Montes estate, and finishes with the Icon tour at Montes. Lunch is booked for you and paid by each guest. It lasts 11 hours, is for adults aged 19 and over, and has 4.7 from 28 reviews on Viator. GetYourGuide sells the same day as Colchagua: VIK and Montes Winery Luxury Experience from $420 per person, against $375 on Viator.

Two other Viator days cover the same ground. The Private Colchagua Wine Tour to Los Maquis and Neyen runs about 11.5 hours, from $370 each for two down to $265 each for six to ten, with 5.0 from 20 reviews on Viator. The Full-Day VIK and Montes Premium Wine Tour costs $419 each for two and $350 each for six, with 5.0 from 11 reviews on Viator. Lunch is paid separately on both. Review counts are small across Colchagua, which our Colchagua Valley wine tours page covers in more detail.

A short private visit and a day on horseback

If you only have half a day, the Cousiño Macul private tour takes about 4 hours. Cousiño Macul sits inside Santiago, in Peñalolén, and dates its estate to 1856. You walk the vineyard and the original cellars and taste, with start times at 10:00 and 14:30, and the tour has 4.9 from 75 reviews on Viator. Lunch is not included. Our half-day wine tours page compares it with the shared single-winery trips.

The Private Horseback Ride, Country Grill and Organic Winery Tasting puts the ride first: a country breakfast, a morning on horseback across the Maipo River and through vineyards, a grill lunch with wine, then the organic Miraflores winery for its Cabernet Sauvignon. It lasts about 9 hours, riders must be 14 or older, it runs in all weather, and it costs from $585 per person, which may vary with group size. It has 4.9 from 53 reviews on Viator.

Private or shared?

Shared tours usually fit more wineries into a day for far less per person. The busiest shared Maipo day, the four-winery tour, starts from $119 per person, compared on our 4-winery tours page. A private day earns its price when you want a set pace, a guide in your own language, airport or station pickup, or a group large enough to bring the per-person rate down. If lunch matters as much as the tasting, see our wine tours with lunch page, because most private days leave the bill to you.
