How a Casablanca Winery Day Runs
The shape of the four-stop days; the operator may change the order on the day.
Pickup and Ruta 68
A driver collects you from your Santiago accommodation and heads west on Ruta 68, the highway to the coast. The valley is about 80 km away, around an hour's drive depending on traffic, so you reach the first winery well before lunch. Mornings there are often foggy, so bring a layer.
Emiliana's organic farm
Both shared four-stop days include Emiliana Organic Vineyards, which farms organically and biodynamically. Guests on the Best Trip Chile day mention feeding the alpacas there. On the private tour, Emiliana pours four wines, red and white, with a cheese and chocolate board for each guest.
Cellars and a third winery
Bodegas RE, the family winery of Casablanca pioneer Pablo Morandé, takes visitors into its underground cellar, where part of the wine ferments in clay amphorae. The third tasting is Casa del Molle, a small family producer, on the Go2Chile day, or Casa Valle Viñamar, known for sparkling wine, on the Best Trip Chile day.
Lunch at Tanino
Both four-stop days finish at Casas del Bosque for lunch at its Tanino restaurant. You order from the menu and pay your own bill, and there is no tasting of the estate's wines. After lunch the van drives back along Ruta 68, ending a day of about 9 to 10 hours.

CASABLANCA VALLEY GUIDE
Casablanca Valley Wine Tours: Which Day to Book
Dedicated winery days against Valparaíso coast days, and how lunch works on each.
For a full day of Casablanca wine from Santiago, book the Four Casablanca Wineries day with Emiliana, Bodegas RE and Casa del Molle on Viator. It starts from $139 per person and has 4.8 from 646 reviews on Viator (prices checked October 2026). You get guided tastings at three contrasting estates, then lunch at Tanino, the restaurant at Casas del Bosque, which you pay for yourself.
Casablanca sells two quite different days, and the first decision is which one you want. The dedicated winery days spend the whole day among vines. The coast days spend most of it in Valparaíso and Viña del Mar and add a single tasting on the way back. Both are good; they suit different travellers.
Why Casablanca: the cool valley on the way to the sea
Casablanca lies on Ruta 68 between Santiago and the coast, about 80 km west of the city and around an hour’s drive depending on traffic. Pacific fog rolls in most mornings and burns off by the afternoon, which keeps the valley cool. That climate is why it is best known for white wines, above all Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, with Pinot Noir as its signature red. Warmer, higher parts also grow Syrah and Merlot.
It is also a young region. Winemaker Pablo Morandé planted the first vineyard here in 1982, an experimental plot of about 20 hectares, and Casablanca is widely described as Chile’s first cool-climate coastal wine region. If you want Cabernet and historic estates, the Maipo Valley wine tours page is the better fit. If you want fresh whites and small, modern producers, Casablanca is the valley for it.
The dedicated winery days
Two shared Viator tours run almost the same route, and the difference is one winery.
The Go2Chile day, our lead pick, visits Emiliana, Bodegas RE and Casa del Molle, with entry and a guided tasting at each. Emiliana farms organically and biodynamically. Bodegas RE takes you underground into a cellar where part of the wine ferments in clay amphorae and traditional tinajas. Casa del Molle is a small family producer, and several recent reviewers named it their favourite stop. Groups are capped at 15, guiding is in English and Spanish, and the day runs about 10 hours. See our breakdown of the Go2Chile day for the full itinerary.
The Casablanca Valley 4 Vineyards day from Best Trip Chile swaps Casa del Molle for Casa Valle Viñamar, a sparkling-wine specialist. It starts from $149 per person with 4.9 from 144 reviews on Viator, runs about 9 hours and adds Portuguese to English and Spanish. With a mixed group the guide may switch between languages. One reviewer in March 2026 noted that Bodegas RE poured only two wines on her visit, while Emiliana was generous.
Choose Go2Chile for the artisan stop and the larger review base. Choose Best Trip Chile if you like sparkling wine or need Portuguese.
Lunch: the fourth winery is a restaurant
Both four-stop days are sold as four wineries, but the fourth is a lunch stop. You visit Casas del Bosque to eat at Tanino, you order from the menu and you pay your own bill. Neither tour includes a tasting at Casas del Bosque, and one reviewer in September 2026 complained that there was no time left to taste there. Budget for the meal, and for tips.
Casas del Bosque is worth the stop. The family-owned estate was founded in 1993 and was ranked No. 42 in The World’s 50 Best Vineyards 2025. If you would rather have lunch included, the Casas del Bosque Winery Tour with Tasting and Tanino Lunch on GetYourGuide spends the whole visit at that one estate: a guided walk, four wines with a sommelier guide, and a three-course Tanino lunch with two more wines, from $130 per person with 4.5 from 17 GetYourGuide reviews. Our wine tours with lunch page sorts every tour on this site by how lunch works.
A private Casablanca day
The Private Casablanca Tour: Emiliana, William Cole and Casa del Bosque gives you your own vehicle and guide for about 8 hours. Emiliana pours four wines, red and white, with a cheese and chocolate board for each guest; William Cole adds a vineyard tour and tasting; and the day ends with a paid lunch at Casa del Bosque. It starts from $150 per person, with 4.9 from 116 reviews on Viator, but private tours are priced by party size, so the from-price may not be what you pay as a couple or alone. Check the figure for your group on the booking page.
The trade is two included tastings instead of three, in exchange for a day on your own schedule. Pickup covers Centro, Las Condes, Vitacura and Providencia. The best private wine tours page compares it with private days in Maipo and Colchagua.
Casablanca plus Valparaíso and Viña del Mar
The coast days carry big review counts, but they are sightseeing days with a single tasting at the end. The Valparaíso and Viña del Mar Coast Tour with Casablanca Wine Tasting from Stamp’s Tour has 4.9 from 8,341 reviews on Viator, the most-reviewed tour on this site, from $75 per person. It includes a walking tour of Valparaíso’s hills, one funicular ride, time in Viña del Mar and a tasting at an unnamed Casablanca vineyard. Lunch is at your own cost. GetYourGuide sells the same day as the Valparaíso, Viña del Mar and Casablanca Valley Tour, from $77 per person with 4.8 from 2,100 GetYourGuide reviews, so Viator is slightly cheaper at the from-price.
The second coast day is a two-platform listing too. On GetYourGuide it is the Valparaíso, Viña del Mar and Casablanca Valley Wine Tour, from $61 per person with 4.8 from 1,251 GetYourGuide reviews; its itinerary gives the tasting 45 minutes and adds the Flower Clock, the Moai at the Fonck Museum and Ascensor El Peral. Its Viator twin, from Best Trip Chile, is the Valparaíso, Viña del Mar and Casablanca Wine Tour, from $62 per person with 4.9 from 1,225 reviews on Viator. The prices are within a dollar, so book on whichever platform you already use.
Valparaíso’s historic quarter is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and only a handful of its ascensores run at any one time, so the funicular you ride depends on the day. If wine is the point of your trip, a coast day will feel thin. If you want to see the coast and taste one Casablanca wine, it is good value.
Getting there on your own
Buses from Terminal Pajaritos run to Casablanca town through the day, but the wineries are spread along and off Ruta 68 outside town, so you would still need a taxi or transfer between them. Driving yourself means one person stays sober: Chile’s Tolerancia Cero law treats 0.3 g of alcohol per litre of blood as driving under the influence. For most visitors a tour is the simpler choice. For winery-by-winery detail on the valley itself, our sister site Casablanca Valley Wine Tours covers each estate in depth.
Where to go next
If you are still choosing a valley, compare Casablanca with the Maipo Valley and the longer Colchagua Valley day, or see how the Casablanca and Maipo four-stop days line up on our 4-winery tours page. Casablanca Valley Wine Tours: Frequently Asked Questions
Distance, prices, lunch, wineries, private days and the Valparaíso coast tours, checked October 2026.
The Casablanca Valley is about 80 km west of Santiago on Ruta 68, around an hour's drive depending on traffic. It lies roughly two-thirds of the way to Valparaíso, which is another 40 km on. That short drive is why the dedicated winery days fit three tastings and a long lunch into 9 to 10 hours with hotel pickup.
In October 2026 the four-winery days started from $139 per person (Go2Chile) and $149 per person (Best Trip Chile) on Viator. The private Emiliana, William Cole and Casa del Bosque day started from $150 per person, but private prices vary with group size. The coast days on this page, with one tasting, start from $61 on GetYourGuide and $75 on Viator. Lunch is extra on all of these.
Usually not. Both four-winery days end with lunch at Tanino, the Casas del Bosque restaurant, which you order and pay for yourself, and the private tour's lunch at Casa del Bosque is also paid separately. The exception among the tours on this page is the single-estate Casas del Bosque tour on GetYourGuide, which includes a three-course Tanino lunch with two paired wines, from $130 per person.
The Go2Chile four-winery day tastes at Emiliana Organic Vineyards, Bodegas RE and Casa del Molle. The Best Trip Chile day swaps Casa del Molle for Casa Valle Viñamar. Both end at Casas del Bosque for lunch only, with no tasting there. The private tour visits Emiliana and William Cole, then lunch at Casa del Bosque. Operators may change the order on the day.
You stop at four estates, but you taste at three. The fourth, Casas del Bosque, is a lunch stop at its Tanino restaurant, and neither four-winery listing includes a tasting there. One reviewer in September 2026 said there was no time left to taste the estate's wines on his own, so treat it as a meal stop and budget for the bill.
Yes. The private tour visits Emiliana, where you taste four wines with a cheese and chocolate board, and William Cole for a vineyard tour and tasting, then stops for a paid lunch at Casa del Bosque. It runs about 8 hours with pickup in Centro, Las Condes, Vitacura or Providencia, from $150 per person, with 4.9 from 116 reviews on Viator. See our private wine tours page.
Two coast days do. Stamp's Tour's day has 4.9 from 8,341 reviews on Viator, from $75 per person, and is sold on GetYourGuide from $77. Best Trip Chile's day is from $61 on GetYourGuide and $62 on Viator. Each spends most of the day in Valparaíso and Viña del Mar and includes one tasting at an unnamed Casablanca vineyard. Lunch is at your own cost.
Probably not. The coast days include a single tasting, which the GetYourGuide itinerary of one version gives 45 minutes, and the rest of the day is walking Valparaíso's hills and seeing Viña del Mar. If tasting is the reason you are going, a four-winery Casablanca day gives you three guided tastings for about twice the price.
Casablanca is a cool coastal valley, kept fresh by Pacific morning fog, and it is best known for white wines, above all Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Pinot Noir is its signature red, and warmer, higher sites also grow Syrah and Merlot. Viñamar specialises in sparkling wine, which is why the Best Trip Chile day suits sparkling fans.
You can, but it takes planning. Buses run from Santiago's Terminal Pajaritos to Casablanca town through the day, yet the wineries are spread along and off Ruta 68, so you still need a taxi or transfer between them. If you drive, one person must stay sober, because Chile's Tolerancia Cero law treats 0.3 g of alcohol per litre of blood as under the influence.
Chile's tourism board says the valley can be visited year-round. The harvest usually runs from late summer into autumn, mostly March and April and sometimes into May, and Casablanca's harvest festival was held on 11 and 12 April 2026. Mornings are often foggy and afternoons warmer at any time of year, so dress in layers.
Choose Casablanca for cool-climate whites and Pinot Noir, smaller modern producers, or a day that also takes in Valparaíso. Choose Maipo for Cabernet Sauvignon, historic estates such as Concha y Toro and Undurraga, the widest choice of tours and half-day options. Both are about an hour from Santiago. Our Maipo Valley wine tours page compares those days.
