Which wine tour from Santiago is right for you?

All 23 wine tours from Santiago on this site compared by valley, wineries, lunch, group, length and price, with a pick for each kind of traveller.

Updated October 2026

Start with the valley, because it decides more about your day than any single winery. For the most tastings close to Santiago, book the Maipo 4 Wineries, Pisco Tasting and Optional Lunch tour: about 10 hours with hotel or Airbnb pickup, from $119 per person and rated 4.9 from 2,725 reviews on Viator. For cool-climate whites, book the Casablanca Four Casablanca Wineries day: Emiliana, Bodegas RE and Casa del Molle, then lunch at Tanino at your own cost, from $139 and rated 4.8 from 646 reviews on Viator.

For a long private day in Carmenère country, look at Colchagua, where every tour on this site is private and runs 10 to 12 hours. The other tours change one thing: a half day instead of a full one, lunch in the price, the coast instead of more wineries, or a car of your own. Prices are “from” figures per person as checked in October 2026, and the live price is always on the booking page.

Four questions that narrow it down

Which valley? Maipo is closest, about an hour from Santiago, and has the most tours. Casablanca is about 80 km west on the road to Valparaíso, around an hour depending on traffic. Colchagua is about 180 km south, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours each way. The Maipo, Casablanca and Colchagua pages each compare their own tours.

How much time do you have? A single-winery half day takes from 1 hour (Cousiño Macul, inside the city) to about 5 hours (Concha y Toro by bus); Santa Rita with lunch fills a 9-hour day. A full day runs 7 to 12 hours.

Do you want lunch in the price? Most shared full days stop at a restaurant where you pay. The Santa Rita day, the Casas del Bosque visit and the private Maipo days include a meal.

Shared or private? Shared days on this site run from $25 to $207 per person. Private days run from $90 for a Cousiño Macul half day to $636 per person for three Maipo estates with lunch.

Picks by need

A first wine day

The Maipo four-winery day is the default for a first visit. Stamp’s Tour collects you from 7:30 am, pours wine and Chilean pisco at the La Quirinca family farm, then moves on to Santa Ema and TerraMater, where lunch breaks around 12:30. The Premium Route ends with Undurraga’s full tour; the Traditional options end at Viña Ballek by the Maipo River. Only the Traditional + Lunch Included option puts lunch in the price. The same operator lists it on GetYourGuide from $149, with 4.8 from 620 GetYourGuide reviews. See 4-winery tours from Santiago.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Chile’s tourism board calls the Maipo the cradle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, and Concha y Toro’s Marqués de Casa Concha line started with a 1972 Puente Alto Cabernet. The Marqués de Casa Concha Tasting finishes in a private room with six Marqués de Casa Concha wines and four premium wines, with cheese, after a walk through the park and the Casillero del Diablo cellar. It is from $135, rated 4.9 from 1,223 reviews on Viator, and leaves by Turistik bus from Plaza de Armas, Las Condes or Parque Arauco. See Concha y Toro tours.

Whites and cool-climate wine

Casablanca is cooled by Pacific morning fog and known for Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The Four Casablanca Wineries tour sets three different producers side by side: Emiliana, which farms organically and biodynamically, Bodegas RE with its underground cellars, and the small Casa del Molle. Groups are capped at 15. The Casablanca Valley 4 Vineyards tour swaps Casa del Molle for Viñamar, a sparkling-wine house, adds Portuguese guiding and runs 9 hours, from $149 with 4.9 from 144 reviews on Viator. On both, Casas del Bosque is a lunch stop at Tanino that you pay for, not a tasting.

The coast with a glass of wine

The Valparaíso and Viña del Mar Coast Tour is the most-reviewed tour on this site, 4.9 from 8,341 reviews on Viator, from $75. You explore Valparaíso’s hills on foot, ride one funicular, see Viña del Mar and taste at one Casablanca vineyard on the way back. Its twin, on GetYourGuide, is from $77 with 4.8 from 2,100 GetYourGuide reviews. The GetYourGuide coast and Casablanca tour is from $61 with 4.8 from 1,251 reviews, with a 45-minute tasting and the El Peral funicular. Lunch is at your own cost on all three.

A premium day

Colchagua is where the long premium days go. The Private Colchagua Wine Tour: Los Maquis and Neyen tastes four wines at Los Maquis and three at Neyen in Apalta, with a reserved table at Francis Mallmann’s Fuegos de Apalta and a stop for wine by the glass at Clos Apalta, both paid on the day. It is rated 5.0 from 20 reviews on Viator, about 11.5 hours, and costs $370 each for two, $310 each for three, $280 each for four or five and $265 each for six to ten. The VIK and Montes day pairs Viña VIK, in Millahue in the Cachapoal Valley, with an Icon tour at Montes, at $375 each for two. If you are travelling alone, the Across Experience VIK and Montes tour takes solo bookings at $610, or $419 each for two. See Colchagua Valley wine tours.

Short on time

Cousiño Macul is inside Santiago, in Peñalolén. The winery’s own Heritage Wine Tour takes 1 to 1.5 hours from $25, rated 4.9 from 167 GetYourGuide reviews, and you get there by taxi or app. For transport included, Undurraga with hotel transfer takes about 4 to 4.5 hours from $60, with 4.8 from 92 GetYourGuide reviews; the driver does not speak English, and the guiding happens at the vineyard. The Bahá’í Temple and Cousiño Macul tour fits both into 3 hours from $96. See half-day wine tours and Undurraga winery tours.

Lunch in the price

The Santa Rita Winery Day Tour includes a three-course lunch, three wines, a bicycle in the vineyards and the Andean Museum’s roughly 3,000 pre-Columbian pieces. It runs Wednesdays and Fridays from a Santiago meeting point, from $207 with 4.8 from 426 reviews on Viator. In Casablanca, Casas del Bosque with Tanino Lunch pours four wines on the tour and two more with a three-course lunch, from $130 with 4.5 from 17 GetYourGuide reviews. See wine tours from Santiago with lunch.

A car of your own

The Private Casablanca Tour has the lowest from-price of the private full days on this site: from $150 per person, rated 4.9 from 116 reviews on Viator, over 8 hours. Emiliana pours four wines with a cheese and chocolate board, William Cole adds a vineyard tour and tasting, and lunch at Casa del Bosque is at your own cost. The price may vary with group size. In Maipo, the private Aquitania and Santa Rita tour includes a Chilean lunch from $290, and the private Concha y Toro, Santa Rita and Undurraga tour includes lunch at Doña Paula, at $636 each for two or $986 for one. The private horseback day puts a ride across the Maipo River ahead of a single organic-winery tasting, from $585. See best private wine tours from Santiago.

On a budget

The lowest from-price on this site is the $25 Cousiño Macul Heritage Wine Tour, with no transport. With hotel pickup, the Undurraga half day is from $60 and the GetYourGuide coast tour from $61. Among the four-winery days, the Maipo one at $119 costs least. The Concha y Toro and Undurraga tour is from $76, but read the option at checkout: some reviewers booked the Undurraga-only option by mistake, and it holds the lowest rating on this site, 4.0 from 201 GetYourGuide reviews.

Know before you go

  • Lunch money. Unless your tour or option includes a meal, bring a card or cash for lunch and tips.
  • Age. Chile’s legal drinking age is 18, and several listings ask for ID; the Colchagua private days sell adult tickets only.
  • Meeting points. The Turistik trips to Concha y Toro, Santa Rita and Cousiño Macul leave from set points in the city, not your hotel. Arrive 15 minutes early.
  • Minimum numbers. The Stamp’s Tour Maipo days need four passengers and the coast tour two; if not met, you are offered another date or a refund.
  • Driving. Chile’s zero-tolerance law treats 0.3 grams of alcohol per litre of blood as under the influence, so a tour means nobody has to stay sober.
  • Season. Harvest runs from about February to April, sometimes into May, with festivals in March and April. Book ahead then.
  • Cancellation. Every tour here shows free cancellation up to 24 hours before; check the terms on the booking page.

Frequently asked questions

Which wine tour from Santiago is best for a first visit?

The Maipo four-winery day: four tastings in about 10 hours with hotel pickup, from $119 and rated 4.9 from 2,725 reviews on Viator. If you prefer white wine, the Four Casablanca Wineries day from $139 is the equivalent in Casablanca.

Maipo or Casablanca?

Maipo for Cabernet Sauvignon, historic estates and the widest choice of tours, about an hour away. Casablanca for Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, about 80 km west, and the option of adding Valparaíso.

Is Colchagua worth the drive from Santiago?

If you want a long private day at named estates such as Montes, Neyen or Los Maquis, yes. Expect 10 to 12 hours, a lot of it on the road, and private pricing from $370 per person for two.

Which tours include lunch?

The Santa Rita day tour, the Casas del Bosque tour with Tanino lunch, and the private Maipo days with Santa Rita or the country grill. The Maipo four-winery day includes lunch only on one option, and the Casablanca four-stop days and the Colchagua days leave it to you.

Can I book the same tour on Viator and GetYourGuide?

Some, yes. The Maipo four-winery day is $119 on Viator and $149 on GetYourGuide, and the Valparaíso coast tour is $75 against $77. Twins have separate prices and reviews, so compare both.
