Bahá'í Temple and Cousiño Macul Winery Tour from Santiago

4.8 (248 verified reviews)

About This Experience

This is a short wine outing, about 3 hours, with no long drive into the valleys, because both stops lie on Santiago's eastern side. Turistik runs it on a shared bus from Plaza de Armas, Av. Vitacura in Las Condes or Parque Arauco, and there is no hotel pickup.

The temple stop lasts about an hour. The Bahá'í House of Worship rises from the Andes foothills, and time there goes on the architecture and the view back over the city; it is an active place of worship, so expect a quiet visit.

The other two hours are spent at Viña Cousiño Macul. Founded in 1856 and described in the listing as one of the oldest wineries in the Maipo Valley, it is now surrounded by the city and run by the family's sixth generation. Its French-style cellars stand on stone bases under brick vaults that, according to the listing, were bonded with lime, sand and egg white. The winery team talks you through Chilean wine before a tasting of the estate's production, and you keep a Cousiño Macul glass.

Pick this if you want a taste of Maipo wine plus a city landmark in one short outing, rather than a full day among several wineries. Your guide switches between English and Spanish; there is no lunch, and under-18s are not served wine. It holds 4.8 from 248 Viator reviews; a few reviewers found the temple visit brief, and some had the two stops in reverse order.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.8/5 by 248 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

It was nice visit the temple and the winery the on same day! Janis and Manuel did a great job! My suggestion for meeting points should be more specific. We had a hard time finding the meeting point. Luckily we were able to catch up with tour bus.
