Private Maipo Valley Tour: Concha y Toro, Santa Rita and Undurraga

About This Experience
For travelers who want the big Maipo names in one day without sharing a van, this private tour strings together Concha y Toro, Santa Rita and Undurraga, led by a guide whose specialty is wine. The car can meet you at your hotel, at the airport or at Santiago's central train or bus station, and on the road the guide fills in the background on Chilean wine and on what makes the Maipo distinct. Allow about 10 hours; traffic can move the pickup time.
Concha y Toro comes first. The visit goes down into its century-old cellars and the Casillero del Diablo cellar, the source of the brand's devil legend, and the tasting ends with an engraved glass to keep. The van then heads to Santa Rita, in the Alto Jahuel foothills near Buin, for a tasting of its aged wines and a second gift glass.
Lunch stays on the Santa Rita estate at Doña Paula, a restaurant in the old main house that the listing describes as a National Monument. You order a la carte, the meal is paired with Reserva wine, and it is included. Before leaving there is time in the Andean Museum, Santa Rita's archaeological and ethnographic collection.
Undurraga closes the day with three Reserva wines, the labels depending on availability, and one more glass to take home. Because you pay per person on a private booking, the rate drops as the group grows: $986 for a solo traveler, $636 each for two, and $434 each for a group of eight. Up to 15 people can travel on one booking.
