The Undurraga Trip Step by Step

Tripantur's half day from a Santiago hotel to Talagante and back, about 4 to 4.5 hours.

  1. Hotel pickup

A driver collects you from your hotel in central Santiago, Las Condes or Providencia. Morning and afternoon departures run all year, and you pick the slot at checkout. A reviewer notes the exact pickup time arrives by message the night before, so check your phone that evening and reply if asked.

  2. The drive to Talagante

The itinerary allows around 1.5 hours out and 75 minutes back. The operator states that the driver does not speak English, so treat the ride as transport and save your questions for the winery. Eating and drinking are not allowed in the vehicle, and oversize luggage cannot come along.

  3. Touring with the winery guide

At Undurraga a guide employed by the winery meets the group and leads roughly an hour and a half of touring, in English, Spanish or Portuguese. Reviewers describe a walk through how the wine is made, one stage at a time, across grounds that take in the vineyard as well as the cellars.

  4. Tasting, glass and shop

The visit ends with a tasting in which the guide explains each wine. You keep a gift glass, and there is time in the wine shop before the drive back; reviewers also mention a café on site. Meals and bottles are extra, so bring a card if you plan to buy wine.

UNDURRAGA GUIDE

Undurraga Alone, Paired or as a Final Stop

Three ways to fit Undurraga into a day from Santiago, and which one suits you.

For Undurraga on its own, book Tripantur’s Undurraga Vineyard Tour and Tasting with Hotel Transfer on GetYourGuide. It starts from $60 per person, collects you from your hotel, gives you about an hour and a half with Undurraga’s own guide plus a tasting, and has you back in about 4 to 4.5 hours. It holds 4.8 from 92 GetYourGuide reviews (prices checked October 2026). One thing to know first: the operator says the driver speaks no English, so the English guiding happens at the vineyard.

Undurraga turns up in three kinds of tour from Santiago: on its own as a half day, paired with Concha y Toro, and as the last stop of a multi-winery day. Which one fits depends on how much of your day you want to give it.

About the estate

Francisco Undurraga Vicuña founded Viña Undurraga in 1885 on the Fundo Santa Ana in Talagante, in the Maipo Valley. Its park was designed by the French landscaper George Henri Dubois. The winery says that in 1903 it became the first Chilean winery to export to the United States, sending a box of Pinot to each of the 45 states. Its own visits are the Tour Sibaris, about an hour, and the Tour Founders, about 90 minutes; Sibaris runs every day, with English departures at 10:00 and 15:00.

Undurraga on its own: three ways

The Tripantur half day is the lowest-priced Undurraga tour with transport on this site. Pickup covers hotels in central Santiago, Las Condes and Providencia, morning and afternoon slots run all year, and a gift glass is included. Meals are not, though reviewers mention a café beside the wine shop.

Viator’s equivalent is Chilenjoy’s Undurraga Winery Tour with Tasting and Hotel Pickup, from $80 per person with 4.8 from 70 reviews on Viator. It adds a visit to the Gente de la Tierra museum, and it picks up from a hotel or private address. It is listed in Spanish only, so it suits Spanish speakers.

If you have your own way there, the Undurraga Winery Sibaris Tour Ticket on Viator, sold by the winery, costs from $37 per person for about 75 minutes: the park, vineyards, cellars and a Mapuche exhibition, then three reserve wines and a glass to keep. It holds 4.7 from 103 reviews on Viator. Undurraga says visitors can take a bus to Talagante from Terminal San Borja, next to Estación Central metro. If you drive, Chile’s zero-tolerance law treats 0.3 g/L of blood alcohol as driving under the influence, so someone in the car should skip the tasting.

Undurraga with Concha y Toro

Ruta Chile’s Concha y Toro and Undurraga Tour, or Undurraga Only is the shared day on this site that pairs just these two estates, and it needs careful booking (the private tour below adds Santa Rita). It sells two options under one title.

  • Concha y Toro and Undurraga: hotel pickup at about 08:00, Concha y Toro in Pirque first, a lunch break of about 90 minutes at your own cost, then Undurraga. Allow 9 to 10 hours.
  • Undurraga Only: pickup near 13:00, or a morning slot if you ask in the booking comments, for about 4 hours. Concha y Toro is not visited.

On both, the Undurraga part is a guided visit of about 75 minutes with three reserve wines and a glass to keep. The listing shows from $76 per person without saying which option that price belongs to, so select your option and date to see the real figure. It holds 4.0 from 201 GetYourGuide reviews, and several reviewers who expected both wineries had booked Undurraga Only. Children under 12 cannot join. For every other way to see Concha y Toro, see our Concha y Toro tours page.

Undurraga as the last stop of a 4-winery day

Stamp’s Tour’s Maipo Valley Wine Tour: 4 Wineries, Pisco Tasting and Optional Lunch costs from $119 per person and holds 4.9 from 2,725 reviews on Viator. Undurraga is the finale only on its Premium Route, which ends with the estate’s complete tour: four premium wines, the grounds, vines, barrel cellar and a display of pre-Columbian pieces. The Traditional options finish at Viña Ballek instead. Lunch is in the price only on the Traditional + Lunch Included option, and the day runs about 10 hours. Our 4-winery tours page explains each route.

The same operator sells the day on GetYourGuide as the Maipo Valley Wine Tour to Four Wineries, from $149 per person with 4.8 from 620 GetYourGuide reviews. Its itinerary always ends at Undurraga, and lunch at TerraMater is at your own cost.

Two more full days take in Undurraga. The Private Maipo Valley Tour: Concha y Toro, Santa Rita and Undurraga finishes there with three Reserva wines after an included lunch at Santa Rita; it is priced by group size, $986 for one, $636 each for two and $434 each for eight, with 5.0 from 31 reviews on Viator. And Stamp’s Tour’s Maipo Valley Wine and Food Trail, from $135 per person with 4.8 from 69 reviews on Viator, closes at a historic estate its itinerary ties to Undurraga, after a breakfast tasting and a lunch stop at Labranza that is included only on the Full wine trail option.

Which Undurraga tour fits you

Where to go next

If you are still choosing between estates, our half-day wine tours page sets Undurraga beside Concha y Toro and Cousiño Macul, and our Maipo Valley wine tours page covers the whole valley. Private days are compared on our best private wine tours page, meals on our wine tours with lunch page, and the guide to which wine tour from Santiago is right for you brings it all together. There is more on the lead tour in our breakdown of the Undurraga half day, and when you have picked a slot, check availability.
