How the Santa Rita Day Runs

From the departure point to the museum, as the listing describes it.

  1. Meet the bus in the city

There is no hotel pickup. You choose one of five departure points when you book, from Los Leones Metro and the Hotel Sheraton in Providencia at 7:30 am to Mall Parque Arauco at 8:15 am. Arrive 15 minutes early. Departures run on Wednesdays and Fridays only.

  2. Tour the estate and cellars

At Santa Rita in Alto Jahuel a guide walks you through the Centennial Park, the vineyards and the cellars. Adults then taste three wines, two Reserva and one Gran Reserva, and keep a Santa Rita glass. Children aged 3 to 17 join the visit but are not served wine.

  3. Sit down to lunch

Lunch is a three-course menu and is part of the $207 price for everyone on the booking, children included. Bicycles are included too, for anyone who wants a ride along the rows of vines. Gratuities and bottles from the estate shop are the only extras.

  4. Finish at the Andean Museum

The last stop is the Andean Museum on the estate, with around 3,000 pre-Columbian archaeological and ethnographic pieces. The bus then returns to Parque Arauco, Av. Vitacura 2653 or Plaza de Armas, about 9 hours after departure. Guides work in Spanish, English and Portuguese, sometimes in one group.

LUNCH GUIDE

Is Lunch Included? Every Wine Tour Checked

Which tours pay for lunch, which stop where you pay, and which include it on one option only.

If you want a wine day from Santiago where lunch is genuinely in the price, book the Santa Rita Winery Day Tour with Lunch and Andean Museum on Viator. It costs a flat $207 per person, includes a three-course lunch, three wines and the estate’s museum, and has 4.8 from 426 reviews on Viator, the most reviews of any tour on this site with lunch included on every booking (checked October 2026). Two conditions come with it: it runs on Wednesdays and Fridays only, and there is no hotel pickup, so you meet the bus at one of five departure points in the city.

The question to ask of any other tour is whether lunch is included or only scheduled. Many of the busiest wine days from Santiago stop at a winery restaurant and leave the bill to you, and a few include lunch on one option only. Everything below is taken from each listing’s own inclusions and exclusions.

Lunch tour by tour

Lunch included in the price:

  • Santa Rita Winery Day Tour: three-course lunch, $207 per person.
  • Casas del Bosque Winery Tour with Tasting and Tanino Lunch on GetYourGuide: three-course lunch with two paired wines, from $130 per person.
  • Private Maipo days with Santa Rita, the horseback day and the Little Wine Bus, all covered below.

Lunch only on one option:

Lunch stop at your own cost:

The Santa Rita day: one estate and a proper lunch

Santa Rita was founded in 1880 by Domingo Fernández Concha in Alto Jahuel, and its park, main house, chapel and cellars were declared a Historic Monument in 1972. The tour, run by Turistik, keeps you on that single estate for about four hours, then gives you roughly an hour in the Andean Museum. A guide takes you through the Centennial Park, vineyards and cellars, adults taste two Reserva wines and one Gran Reserva, and everyone sits down to a three-course lunch. Bicycles are included for a ride through the vines.

The price is the same $207 for adults and for children aged 3 to 17, who eat lunch but are not served wine, and infants up to 2 travel free on a lap. Guiding is in Spanish, English and Portuguese, and groups can mix languages. One reviewer in 2018 found the English commentary shorter in a mixed group. Some older reviews describe a shorter half-day version, so check the current 9-hour itinerary before you rely on them.

The trade-off is variety. You taste three wines at one winery where the multi-winery days visit three or four, and you have to reach a departure point yourself. Read our breakdown of the Santa Rita day for every departure address.

Casablanca with lunch: Casas del Bosque and Tanino

In the Casablanca Valley, about 80 km west of Santiago, the lunch that comes up again and again is Tanino, one of three restaurants at Casas del Bosque. The estate was founded in 1993 by Juan Cúneo Solari and was ranked No. 42 in The World’s 50 Best Vineyards 2025.

The GetYourGuide Casas del Bosque tour is the cheapest tour on this site with lunch always in the price, from $130 per person. You get a guided walk through the garden, vineyard and cellar, four wines with a sommelier guide, and a three-course lunch at Tanino with two more wines, six in all. The listing gives its length as 3 hours plus transfers: the 3 hours are time at the winery, so add the drive to Casablanca and back and set aside most of the day. Pickup covers Las Condes, Providencia, Ñuñoa and central Santiago, and the tour is for adults only. It has 4.5 from 17 GetYourGuide reviews, a small count. One reviewer noted that the winery and restaurant staff lead most of the visit while the operator handles transport.

The four-winery Casablanca days visit more producers but stop at the same restaurant without paying for your meal. Our Casablanca Valley wine tours page compares them.

Private days with lunch included

The Private Maipo Valley Tour with Concha y Toro, Santa Rita and Undurraga includes an à la carte lunch with Reserva wine at Doña Paula, the restaurant inside Santa Rita’s protected historic house of Paula Jaraquemada. It costs $986 for one person, $636 each for two and $434 each for eight, and has 5.0 from 31 reviews on Viator.

The Private Maipo Valley Tour with Aquitania, Santa Rita and Chilean Lunch includes a traditional Chilean lunch at a local restaurant with vegan choices, between tastings at Aquitania and Santa Rita. It starts from $290 per person, a figure that may change with group size, and has 5.0 from 14 reviews on Viator.

The Private Horseback Ride, Country Grill and Organic Winery Tasting includes both a country breakfast and a grill lunch with wine, from $585 per person, with 4.9 from 53 reviews on Viator. One guest who booked at short notice ate at a farm restaurant instead of the outdoor grill. For a day with two meals, the Maipo Valley Little Wine Bus includes brunch with wine and a traditional lunch by the Maipo River, from $458 per person, with 4.9 from 97 reviews on Viator. Our private wine tours page explains how group size changes these prices.

Tours where lunch is an option

The four-winery Maipo day starts from $119 per person with 4.9 from 2,725 reviews on Viator, but that from-price does not say which option it belongs to. Lunch at the winery restaurant is in the price only on the Traditional + Lunch Included option, so price that option on your date. The Wine and Food Trail from the same operator, from $135 per person, includes its fire-cooked Labranza lunch only on the Full wine trail option. Our 4-winery tours page walks through each route.

Paying for lunch on the day

On the tours where lunch is your own cost, you order from the menu and pay the restaurant directly. In Chile, restaurants with table service must suggest a tip of at least 10% on the bill, and you can decline it. On the Colchagua days the operator books your table at Fuegos de Apalta, Francis Mallmann’s restaurant at Montes, and you pay for what you order, including wine from the list. See our Colchagua Valley wine tours page for those days.

Where to go next

Ratings and review counts are each platform's live figures (Viator or GetYourGuide) as of October 2026 and may shift slightly day to day.

"One of the best winery tours we have done.... anywhere. Great guide, interesting history and background to the winery as well as touring the buildings and of course tasting several great wines."

Rita L

"This was a very inefficient tour managed by a large tourism company in Chile (Turistik). Of the 6 hours that we were on the tour, we were traveling for 3.5 hours and only spent 2.5 hours at the vineyard. Our group arrived at the meeting point"

Arvind R

"The tour was way nicer than I expected. The group was small (maybe 12 persons) and the guide was great. I would recommend this for anybody that wants to get out of Santiago for half a day, the garden around the vineyard is gorgeous"

Madalin C

"This was a nice tour of the private park. But we saw no vineyards really. And we only saw historic cellars and not active places where the wine was made. The staff was very nice but this isn’t what I expected for a winery tour."

Dan I

"The tour was really nice. Our guide took the time to explain everything in Spanish and English. The visit of the land and the cellar were very instructive, and the wine testing was good."

Astrid G

"Highly reccomend this tour. The only problem was it was a mixed language tour. The English version was a bit shorter, and not all of the Spanish speaking guests respected our time. It was hard to hear the guide in English due to the chatter of the other guests."

Michelle H

"Excellent tour. The winery is really beautiful and charming. Ours guides both in the bus tour and at the winery were great. There is a tasting at the end of the tour and the prices at the local store are very attractive."

MariaLuiza P

"A viña with Chilean history, with beautiful gardens and a gorgeous Church. My kids and I had a great time, especially testing the wines."
